Timothy Frank Menne Tanser
Tim Tanser is a Legal Practitioner, Conveyancer, Notary Public & Authorised Administrator of Estates. After graduating from at the University of Natal (Pietermaritzburg) and several years in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Following his retirement from Scanlen & Holderness, Tim set up his own Legal Consultancy specialising in property and commercial matters, conveyancing, Estate planning and associated aspects such as Wills, Trusts and Estate Administration.
Tim has been actively involved with the History Society of Zimbabwe and has held many positions within the Society including, for ten years, that of National Chairman. He is a past president of the Harare (then Salisbury) Attorneys Association and the National Trust of Zimbabwe. He has been intimately involved in school administration, having been Chairman of Alexandra Park Primary School for ten years and on the Board of Governors of Falcon College for twenty-five years, five of these as Chairman.
He is a Trustee of the Wakeford Trust, a charitable Trust for educational and vocational purposes. Tim is an Elder and Chairman of leadership of the Baptist Bible Church where he and his wife Diana worship. He has over many years conducted restoring relationships courses at the Christian Counselling Centre. Tim plays tennis and golf and his wife have three married children and eight grandchildren.
George Stavros Georgiou
George holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Natal (Pietermaritzburg). George is a Legal Practitioner Conveyancer & Notary Public registered in Zimbabwe and is also a Solicitor on the Roll entitled to practice in England and Wales. George is also an Authorised Estates Administrator. After university in South Africa, George joined Scanlen and Holderness in 1993. Scanlen & Holderness is the biggest and oldest law firm in Zimbabwe. George was admitted as an Equity partner of Scanlen & Holderness in 2000.
In 2004 George left Zimbabwe and went to practice in the United Kingdom for seven years. In London he worked for a small niche firm Cooke Matheson (which later amalgamated with the Wellers Law Group) which was located in Grays Inn in the City. Whilst in London George was involved in Probate and General Commercial Law.
In 2011 George returned to Zimbabwe and joined Tim Tanser where he deals with General Commercial work as well as Deceased Estates and Estate Planning. George is a trustee for the Old Hararians Sports Club, is a member of the Baptist Bible Church and is newly married to Sally.
Ian Craig Franceys
Ian graduated from the University of Natal (Pietermaritzburg, South Africa with a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and was registered as a Legal Practitioner, Conveyancer and Notary Public in Zimbabwe in 1995. Ian worked with Danziger and Partners for two years (1993-1994) before joining Wintertons in 1995 where he worked until 2001. Ian specialises in property law and conveyancing.
From 2001 until 2010, Ian worked in commerce, some of the time as Company Secretary for two large Zimbabwean Companies, one of which was listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange. In 2011, Ian returned to Wintertons as a Consultant where he continued a practice in property law and conveyancing, before joining Tim Tanser Consultancy as a partner in March 2015. Ian enjoys the outdoors, and he and his wife Yvonne have two sons.
Chipo Jubilee Consolata Dube
Chipo Dube is a registered Legal Practitioner, Conveyancer and Notary Public. She obtained a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy in 1998 with the then Gweru Technical College. She worked in clerical accounting positions in various fields of industry including milling (Blue Ribbon Foods Limited) and tobacco processing (then Rothmans of Pall Mall Zimbabwe prior to its merger with British American Tobacco (Zimbabwe) in 2000.
In 2000 she moved to the NGO sector and was an Administrative Assistant with the South-Eastern Dry Areas Project (SEDAP)until external funding ceased. She then joined Old Mutual Life Assurance Company – as a clerk in Employee Benefits in 2003. Shortly thereafter she was moved to the multinational’s Property division as Portfolio Administrator at supervisory level. She obtained an award for Divisional Worker of the year in 2006.
In 2008 she left Old Mutual under voluntary retrenchment to take up the position of PA/Administrator for the Harare International Church of Christ (HICOC). She then left HICOC in 2010 to join Tim Tanser Consultancy which was then a solo outfit as Timothy Frank Menne Tanser’s PA/Conveyancing Secretary. She obtained a Bachelor of Law Honours degree in 2019 with the University of South Africa. She was admitted as Legal Practitioner in the High Court of Zimbabwe and became a member of the Law Society of Zimbabwe in June 2023. She was subsequently admitted as Conveyancer and Notary Public in June 2024. She is now also registered with the Council of Estate Administrators and Insolvency Practitioners.
She has, over the years, amassed vast experience in property conveyancing matters and recently obtained certification for Property Development and Investment with the University of Cape Town
Chipo is a committed Christian and has been a member of the Harare International Church of Christ since 2003. She has served in various ministries which include Song leading, Kids’ Kingdom and Counters (contributions/tithes). She is married and is mother to three daughters and a son. Chipo loves reading and revels in nature. She is passionate about fitness and sport, being an active member of various social running and exercise groups.
